1) Position requires a Graduate B.E/B.Tech/MCA and 2+ Experience supporting complex and critical IT environments will be evaluated in lieu of these requirements where applicable.
2) working knowledge to support very large databases with heavy OLTP and batch activities.
3) Working Knowledge performance monitoring & tuning.
4) Working Knowledge Unix scripting (Shell/Perl) knowledge.
5) working knowledge in HP Unix, Sun and NT platform.
Preferred : Certification : OCP, OCM, Sun Certified , Red hat Linux Administration Certified

"1) 24/7 support of production database services to ensure the highest standards of availability, resilience, integrity, security and performance required by our business systems.
2) Design, development and administration of Very large (Greater than 1 Terabyte) Production Oracle databases.
3) Performance monitoring and reporting of Oracle databases.
4) Management and maintenance of back-ups & recovery procedures. Good Knowledge of Recovery Scenarios and configuration of Backup using RMAN and BCV/Flash copy
5) Setup , Upgrade, Maintain and apply application DB patches on Development, Test and production Environment.
6) Installation and maintenance of database server, replication and client environments.
7) Provision of support and assistance to development team in the design, development, testing and implementation of database applications
Provisioning of (database) development and testing environments.
8) Basic Knowledge of Oracle Memory and Physical Architecture, Data Dictionary and Packages.
9) Basic Knowledge of Unix plus understanding of Unix administration concepts like RAID, Semaphores, OS Memory Management.
10) Monitoring different databases, addressing the alerts and taking necessary steps.
11) Investigate potential DB problems and issues raised by users.
